Is grief getting in your way of expressing your joy?

Aug 29, 2021

Grief. Deep sorrow. Misery. Anguish. Agony. It’s intense.

Grief can hold us back.

Grief can make you feel unworthy.

Grief can make you feel hopeless.

Grief can impact how we communicate with ourselves and how we communicate with others.

Grief has a way of making you believe it’s not safe to express your sadness nor your joy.

Grief is beautiful!

And oftentimes, this grief is not even yours.

Oftentimes as children, we pick up on grief that our parents are holding and we don’t know how to even process this pain. We hold onto it for years and years, most of the time without even knowing that’s what’s going on.

Can you relate to this?

If you’re anything like me, when I was a child, I would run into my bedroom and put a pillow over my face and just cry. I was constantly grieving. Everything was so heavy.

What does grief look like for you? Is it struggling to keep up with your day to day routine? Is it constantly blaming yourself? Is it feelings of depression or waves of anxiety?

Check in with yourself. We all crave the feeling of someone taking the time to see how we are feeling and yet are you doing this for yourself?

Give yourself some time to process everything. Talk to a trusted friend. Take care of yourself. Receive the support you are looking for.

When you take the time to check in with yourself, you deeply connect with your feels. You become disciplined. You take action and achieve BIG things in your life!

You are a powerful creator when you take the time to mother your inner-child!
